Eater covers dining and food news from across the country, and it's a part of the Vox Media family. From 2012 to 2015 I worked for Eater as a freelance writer. My features have appeared on both national and local San Francisco sites.
My focus has been on coffee. Drawing on my experience as a barista, a coffee writer for Sprudge, and someone interested in farming and ecology, I wrote on the sustainability of coffee facing the threat of climate change. To write that story I interviewed ecologists, roasters, baristas, and big companies like Starbucks and Peet's. I was also thrilled to get a chance to interview World Barista Champion Tim Wendelboe on his new coffee farm in Guatemala. Another high traffic feature I wrote for Eater's Drinks vertical was an explainer on nitro coffee.
